Final social messaging campaign advertisement

'Hiding in a screen'.

Evaluation:

WWW, (what went well): I incorporated use of the special effect, 'super expose', (seen when myself, Clare O'Mara reads the messages sent from the cyber bully, played by Kathryn Clark, this symbolises the main character reading the messages sent, but as well so the audience can read the messages from the main character's point of view). By using this special effect will then makes my advertisement appear more professional and original as it is uncommon for social messaging campaign adverts to include use of special effects, such as super expose.

WWW, (what went well): Also in my advertisement I included text layed upon my footage of my advert, this is so my audience could remain watching the advert but still understand the message being communicated to them, which in this case is, 'Stay connect. Stay safe' this message means myself and the company wish the audience to still use the Internet/social networking sites but use safetly.

WWW, (what went well): In the end of the advertisement I also included use of helpful websites and phone numbers, this is so if the audience wish to request help on issues involving cyber bullying then the audience will feel comforted knowing there are websites and people available to help those who are and may be a victim of cyber bullying.

EBI, (even better if): However I can improve my advertisement by included the logo more boldly and clearly instead of the logo being included subliminally, (the logo is seen when the main character exists the location). Therefore this advert can be improved by including the company, ('Connescast') logo more clearly in order for the audience to understand that this advertisement is official and professional.

EBI, (even better if): As well as this advert can be improved by displaying the main character's emotions more clearly, this is so the audience is able to understand the storyline/situation more efficiently as they understand how cyber bullying may effect a person.

EBI, (even better if): On the other hand this social messaging campaign advertisement can be improved more successfully by slowing down the footage; this is because the audience may find the advertisement confusing and unappealing as the advert has been sped up, (the reason behind speeding up the duration of the footage was so the storyline is still be included without having to remove any important footage which will play a key part in the storyline of the advertisement). Therefore this social messaging campaign advertisement can be improved by decreasing the speed of the original footage.

First draft and evaluation of advert.

Evaluation:

WWW, (what went well): For my social messaging campaign advertisement I have included use of the special effect, 'super expose', this is so my advertisement will become more meaning full as well as original; this is because it is not common for social messaging campaign advertisements to use the special effect of super expose.

WWW, (what went well): I have also used the logo of the company clearly, using the special effect, 'super expose' this is so the audience can watch the advert while at the same time see the company's logo being displayed in the advertisement.

WWW, (what went well): My advert is successful as well as I have incorporated use of a storyline, (which in this case is a young female is cyber bullied on a social networking site, but resolves the issue by reporting/blocking the cyber bully). Therefore this shows by including use of a storyline within my advert will then make it become more interesting and appealing for the audience to watch the social messaging campaign advertisement.

EBI, (even better if): However my advertisement can be improved my shorten the length of the advert/footage, this is because my advertisement at the moment is 34 seconds long and needs to be 25-30 seconds in length. This then shows in order to improve my advert I will need to shorten the advert in order for the audience to still wish to watch the advert and understand the concept behind it.

EBI, (even better if): As well as my social messaging campaign advertisement can be improved by making the footage/clips clearer to understand for the audience watching, this can be completed by slowing down the pace of the speed of the footage, (this can be changed but editing the speed of the  selected clip).

EBI, (even better if): On the other hand I can improve my advertisement by making the character's emotions, become clearer to see/understand. This can be improved my re-filming a selection of the advert where the character's emotions, (such as facial expressions) are easier to understand, this is so the audience will understand the storyline of the advertisement more efficiently and successful.

Social messaging campaign advert's logo.

Here I have created a logo for my social messaging campaign advertisement, I have created this logo using the software of, 'Adobe Photoshop C36'. I then made the size of the paper 15cm by 15cm, in order for the logo to become clear to read by the audience, and so the image and text does not appear unappealing and unprofessional. I have decided to use a fist to symbolise wanting/wishing to help others though the use of communication, I also decided to use the colour, 'green' on the logo's fist in order to symbolise peace; this is so the company and advertisement does not appear aggressive but instead appears serious, helpful and sensitive. Also I decided to include the company's name, which the audience can see on the logo stating, 'Connexcast'; I have included the company's name within the logo in order for the audience to understand that this advertisement and logo is professional and an official company. In conclusion this shows I have created a logo for my company displaying both the company's name as well as a symbolic meaning in order to reflect on the company in a positive manner.

Analysis of market research.

Based on my research into existing products I learned that many social message campaign adverts use a similar style which is making the advert appear dramatic, this is used so the audience can understand more about the message trying to be communicated to the audience and so the issue being communicated becomes more serious. Also the five adverts also used similar techniques which in this case was compassion, this was used in order for the audience to have more of a emotion connection with the character/s being included in the campaign as so the audience watching feels sympathy for the character/s being included in the video. I also discovered that all five adverts I analysed targeted a range of different generations this was because all five campaigns was communicating different types of issues which will affect different age groups, (such as cyber bullying, railway safety,  donating blood, driving safety and anti-bullying). Therefore this shows that each campaign must target a range of different age groups due to the fact certain matters will allow be legal to adults, (such as be aware of us while driving is only allowed to target over eighteen year old, as it is legal over a person to drive under the age of eighteen). Therefore from my research I made on researching into existing products I learned similar styles and techniques are included in social message campaign adverts but each target audience must relate to the issue itself in order for the audience to connect to the message being communicated. Overall I found this research very helpful and reliable due to the fact I looked at different types of advertisements from different parts of the world, therefore this made my research and results become more efficient and successful, this is because I am now fully aware of what is required in order to make a successful and effective social message campaign advert, which in this case is to use compassion, make the advert dramatic, include a realistic narrative and to target audience by relating to the issue being communicated in the advertisement.

Also based on my research I made into competitor analysis I found out that many campaign/ resourceful websites I looked at included similar patterns such as each website would target their audience though the use chose colour, font type, information and images. This is because websites that were targeted for the younger generation would include bright colours, a range of images and appealing but clear to understand font type. Whereas the websites which were targeted for teenagers included an equal amount of images and information, clear to read font type and use of both neutral and positive colours in order for the website to not appear childish or unappealing towards teenager's opinion.  Also the websites which was targeted for adults included a range of information, no images, clear to read font type and use of plain colours in order for the website to appear serious and clear to understand. Also the techniques used by the websites I had chosen to analysed used a range of humour, emotional response as well as making the websites appear both dramatic and serious. These types of techniques was used in order for all the websites communicate a clear meaning behind in order for the audience to understand the issue and what can be done to prevent from happening or how to help others who may be in a similar situation. Also all of the websites I chosen to look at all included a realistic narrative this is so the audience can relate more to the issue leading to the audience feeling more interested in all the websites.

Therefore I discovered that from all of the websites I looked at, (which in this case is, 'Cyber smart', 'Nsteens', 'Internet safety tips for kids and teens', 'Kid's health', 'Safe web surfing: top tips for kids and teens online-YouTube video', 'The cyber bullying virus-YouTube video' and 'Ways to stop bullying-YouTube video'). All included similar techniques and styles, this was used in order for the issues being communicated becomes serious and clear to understand by the audience. But all of the websites I researched targeted different generations this was so different websites communicating different issues would be available for all ages, and each issue being communicated would affect different generations. For example the, 'Kid's health' website would help young children and teenagers understand what is need in order to live a positive and healthy life. Therefore this website shows it is available for children and teenagers to become more aware of what is required to be healthy, but this website will also appeal to adults due to the fact adults will use this website if they  have children or teenagers and are unaware of what is need to keep their children healthy. Therefore this website will be efficient for both the younger generation and the older generation as it will help the audience understand what is need for children and teenagers to live positive and healthy lives. Whereas the YouTube, 'The cyber bullying virus' was targeted at teenagers as the characters being included was relatable for this audience age range, the video included an equal amount of information and images as well as using clear font type making the video appealing to teenagers as the video appears both serious and appealing to watch for teenagers. Therefore I have seen an gap in the market for an advertisement aimed at teenagers this is because many of the advertisements I looked at either appeared too childish or too serious, which will then to a lack of interest for the audience of teenagers, because of this I now know what is needed in order to make a successful advertisement this is because from the use of my competitors analysis I have become aware of what is need to target teenagers and appeal to this age group. Therefore in the advertisement there must be an equal amount of images and information, the meaning behind the advertisement must be clear to understand, use both neutral and positive colours and use an appealing font type that is also clear to read for this target audience, (which in this case is teenagers). Overall I could improve on these products I have chosen to analysed by making each advertisement more personal, relatable and appealing to understand/watch in order for the audience to become more interest in the advertisement and wishing to help themselves or others who may be in similar situation which was being communicated though the use of the advertisement.

And based on my research I made into product placement I discovered that from looking at the following channel, ‘4Music’, ‘Viva’, ‘BBC Three’, ‘Film4’ and ‘Channel 5’that each channel was unique this is because every channel I looked at supplies a range of different genres of programmes, such as reality, drama, comedy, cartoons and music. Therefore a channel that supplies a range of different programmes will become better known, successful and professional this is because the more programmes available will attract a wider audience range.

Therefore based on my research I made into product placement I discovered that from looking at the following channels, ‘4Music’, ‘Viva’, ‘BBC Three’, ‘Film4’ and ‘Channel 5’ that the channel with producing a range of different genres of programmes was, ‘4Music’ this is due to the fact that this channel supplies a range of different programmes, (such as comedy, reality, music and drama) which will appeal more to the target audience of male and female teenagers this is because this target audience will be fully interested in a channel that supplies a range of different programmes available at different times of the day.
